Nourishing Egg Yolk Coffee Recipe

This recipe may be a surprise to some people who have been using regular creamer plant based creamer. But surprising as it may be, I guarantee that when you try this nutritious and nourishing egg yolk coffee you will not go back.

Egg yolk coffee has become an extremely popular trend among the pro metabolic community online. It's a healthy spin on your morning brew. Long gone are the days when the only coffee available at your own home is black or with cream. This coffee will easily become a favorite. When I first started making this coffee my friends and family were not on board. “Egg in your coffee? “ they’d ask with a scared look on their face. But all it took was one cup of this delicious egg yolk coffee to win them all over.

My cousin dropped by and specifically asked if i could make him this coffee and said “now that I've tried this, it's just not the same when I drink regular creamer.” so be warned this recipe may ruin regular creamer for you forever.

The nutritional value of this recipe far exceeds what most people are used to, and it's a good thing considering most people are drinking highly processed creamer with hydrogenated oils and tons of sugar. The store bought creamer might as well be poured down the drain with how toxic it is for your health.

I first discovered a version of this coffee on instagram. Both @nataliealaskarewild and @kalemekourtnutrition have wonderful recipes on their instagram pages that was the inspiration for this recipe. The only problem I noticed is that most recipes call for an espresso machine.

So I started making a version with a regular cup of Joe, and after a while of making it I started to change and adapt the recipe to make it even better. So if you have an espresso machine, then check out those amazing women on instagram but if like me you just have a cheap coffee machine than my recipe will work perfectly for you.

So let's ditch the unhealthy store bought creamer and make this delicious nutritious egg yolk coffee recipe

Nutrient dense & delicious

Egg yolk coffee recipe

Note: this recipe calls for high quality raw egg yolk, do your own research on raw egg consumption and make the decision for yourself on what you're comfortable consuming.

Ingredients

(this recipe calls for a frother or mason jar for shaking)

Cup of hot coffee

1 Egg yolk (organic, high quality raw egg)

1 tbsp of Organic cane sugar (or coconut sugar)

½ or 1/3 cup Half and half or raw cream

(can also substitute for milk if you have nothing else)

1 tsp Cinnamon

½ tsp Vanilla

opt. small amount (i.e 1 tsp) of organic maple syrup

if you crave that desired sweetness

Directions

1) Crack egg and separate yolk from whites

(you only need the yolk for this recipe) you can save the whites for later

Put yolk into a small bowl

Make sure to separate well so you don't get any egg whites in your coffee

2) Mix in organic can sugar with egg yolk, stir until incorporated

Set aside. Note: I prefer coconut sugar

3) Mix together half & half (or raw cream), cinnamon, vanilla, and butter in a small cup

(preferably a mason jar)

Stir together

Then put in microwave for about 20 secs

Do not let it boil (this would make it too hot to drink)

4) Mix egg yolk mixture and milk mixture, stir together.

Froth the mixture for about 5 secs

Or put in a mason jar with lid on and shake for about 10 secs.

5) Pour into your hot cup of coffee

Enjoy the frothy goodness
